Readers of BloggingSetup often ask for specific strategies to attract attention to their blog or web site. While there has been a lot of tips and strategies available on the web, there are no end of ways to do this. Building authority and improving your reputation is hardwork but here is one that might work well for you:
- Go to Technorati.
- Enter a search on the subject of a page on your site where it says Blogs Posts.
- Press Search.
- This should bring up blogs with a lot of authority.
- Click on the top blue link of an article that you like the look of.
- If comments are allowed, read the article and then makea helpful comment about the article that you have just read in as much detail as possible. Do not write about your article. This technique is about demonstrating your expertise in this area as well as your helpfulness and interest in the blog writer’s post.
- Copy the URL on your site from the address box above the page that you wish to link to. Enter this in the URL box on the comment form. Link to your home page sometimes but not all the time.

That’s it. Repeat the process. Do this for thirty minutes a day and you will soon notice the difference.
A word of caution. Before spending time encouraging visitors to your site or blog, make sure that it is worth visiting and easy on the eye. People assess a site within a few seconds and will not hesitate to press the back button if your site doesn’t appeal to them, after which they will be lost to you for ever more than likely.
The first step of course in persuading others to value your contribution is to value yourself.
