by BloggingSetup on March 10, 2010

Buying and selling a blog is not a good online business due to the possibility that you could lose readership depending upon what you write once you have actually purchased the blog. In most cases, the readers are used to a certain writing style and enjoy reading what the previous blogger wrote. As a result, the new blog owner will experience a decrease in feed subscriber and even the number of comments in each post.

Readership is what makes a blog possible to make money off of besides advertisements and pay per click that is commonly used. A blog usually takes several months to build up enough readers and traffic to make money off of a blog. Some people sell advertisement space on each blog in order to bring in some extra cash for the blog each month.

A blog involves a ton of time and effort to keep it alive and growing. It takes work each day of posting new text regarding the topic. It is like being a news person or a reporter for the newspaper that has to come up with something to talk about each and everyday. Do you realize how difficult it is? Sometimes it is extremely different. Other times it can be quite easy depending on how much knowledge you have on your blog topic.

A blog is only worth what a company or person think that it is worth. One can generally tell how much a blog is worth depending upon readership. It works just like how they do the readership count for magazines. They want to see what it is worth before you make the purchase.

The blog usually gets traffic from a certain source. The source area needs to provide more visitors towards the blog each month. The blog needs to actually make some money. It needs to show an increase of new and old visitors each month in order to go on as the same type of blog that it was originally.

The traffic from the beginning is where it all started at. You have to ask yourself a few questions. Can you keep the original readers and repeat visitors interested? Try a blog to do by yourself for 90 days without any help and see how successful you are at keeping it updated on a regular basis. It is a test to see if you are able to run a blog on your own before you actually buy one. It will help you realize how much work is required in a blog that has a ton of a visitors.

Are you ready to seek out new visitors? The blog will eventually have some visitors fade away cause of simply being busy or not enough time or plain bored of reading the text that you write. You always have to make the text interesting. If it is boring to you then it is going to be boring to others for sure. Unless it is about medical or other legal technical terms then make sure it is interesting as possible along with pictures. Pictures can spice up a blog and attract attention.
