Great post! While I agree that "buyer beware" is the order of the day here, there is in fact money to be made in this space if done correctly. I know because I've been doing it for about a year now. While I've primarily used Flippa and similar sites in the past, their fees have made it harder and harder to make decent money. I just found a new site - JustClickAuctions.com that I'm going to give a try because they're MUCH cheaper to list with and seem to be more selective in the quality of listings they allow on the site. In any case, the key here is to minimize selling expenses while maximizing the sales price of the blog and/or website you're flipping. This means you have to be honest at all times (do not inflate reader count/site traffic/etc.) and make your listing as appealing as possible.

As more and more people try to startup online businesses/blogs each day, many will be searching for existing digital properties to just buy (vs. buying outright) so they have a better chance of success. This represents a legitimate opportunity for "flippers" that know what they're doing. I agree with you that it's not right for everyone but for some of us, it's a gold-mine.
